UK Bestsellers: October 2012
I will admit, I am fairly surprised to see The Casual Vacancy drop to number seven in the charts so quickly - perhaps most of the business was done on pre-orders, but still, I'd expected Jo Rowling's first post-Potter offering to linger at the top of the charts until Christmas. Still, 'tis the season for biographies and cook books, so whether you're dipping into Jamie or Nigella, getting involved with Miranda or Cheryl, enjoy. Although of course, I'd still steer everyone towards Hilary Mantel's wonderful novels about Thomas Cromwell, both sneaking into the top ten on the back of Bring up the Bodies' recent Booker prize.
