US Bestsellers: October 2012
It seems that both sides of the Atlantic, The Casual Vacancy's stint at the top of the charts was to be short-lived, despite sailing past one million sales before you could blink an eye. Still, there is plenty to enjoy in the top ten this month with great thrillers from John Grisham and Vince Flynn, a movie tie-in, and some sexy business on the fringes. The book that really catches my eye though is Proof of Heaven, the 'true' account of a neurosurgeon who experienced heaven and communicated with a divine being while in a coma for seven days. Though the quote on the book's cover claims this is "proof of an after-life" - an impossible statement unless one considers anecdotal evidence 'proof' - and yet it's always interesting to read more about these things, from a spiritual, psychological, or purely voyeuristic point of view, depending on your leaning.
